House: Peony/Botan. Yuushi is well aware of his above average intelligence and magical talent, and takes more than a little pride in it. It’s a sense of pride that also spurs him to behave in ways that suit the image he’s sculpted for himself: of the suave, cool playboy who does as he chooses and throws caution to the wind. The other part of his personality is one he rarely reveals and only to those he thinks worth the effort: the sensitive romantic who only really applies himself when he’s suitably challenged.
Familiar: A Philippine Scops Owl named Athene that he has a love/hate relationship with
Wand:12 ½ inches, tengu feather and apple wood
History: Yuushi comes from one of the families considered the nobility of pureblood wizarding circles. The Oshitari family is based in Osaka, and have been responsible for the care and proliferation of the Hiraga Gennai Centres for Study and Treatment of the Ailing, Invalid and Otherwise Malfunctioning, one of the premiere institutions for magical healing in the country. They have, as such, always been strong in healing magic and have produced some exceptional healers in their line, Yuushi’s own parents included.
It didn’t come much as a surprise to his parents when Yuushi at age eleven declared that, despite the presence of academies of magical education in Osaka itself, he would attend Tohoku. The boy always did have an innate need to constantly challenge himself or fall prey to boredom, and the change in scenery and the reputation of the school promised remedies to this. At school, Yuushi found that he’s able to maintain an impressive grade average with little effort, and found other ways to make use of his time, including to his own surprise, finding a spot on the Quidditch team.
Anything else: Yuushi plays ‘poker-faced’ Keeper on the Quidditch team
